About Us 2025

To meet the needs of the Gay/Bi/Queer/Questioning
Men-who-have-sex-with-Men (GBQMSM) community here in Singapore,

gayhealth.sg was created within AfA to improve our sexual health knowledge, practices and services through advocacy and empowerment.

In Action for AIDS (AfA), we are the community’s only HIV/AIDS agency, Singapore’s only charity dedicated to fighting HIV/AIDS, with approved charity tax-exemption status since 2004. AFA’s aim is to maintain and strengthen our daily programme delivery and extend care and support to individuals and families who are affected by HIV/AIDS.

Getting To 0

To keep up with the ever evolving needs of the gay community, we overhauled Singapore’s pioneering and most comprehensive Men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM) Programme (what a mouthful) to gayhealth.sg. With one objective in mind: to achieve zero.

Community Based

We believe in a collaborative approach that involves people throughout the entire process of program or project planning & execution. The unique strengths that each person brings help us build a resilient and adaptive community.

With our team of dedicated volunteers, we pull together individuals, families, friends and businesses to form a system of care that provides relevant and holistic services and programmes so you can be in the pink of health.

Meet The Team

Nicholas Chan

Manager, MSM Programme

A natural busybody (aka "kaypoh") who has been involved with fringe communities for years, Nicholas has been intertwined with Action for AIDS since 2016. He is experienced in programme design & evaluation, stakeholder engagement and community building. Nicholas strongly believes in constantly making positive noise such that marginalised communities will be seen & heard, and subsequently be sufficiently empowered to make their own choices & life decisions. This led him to journey together with AfA as he believes that sexual health should be as important and advocated for as physical & mental health.

Calvin Tan

Executive, MSM Programme

Calvin has been an HIV advocate ever since he was diagnosed with HIV during his late teens. Over the years he has opened to the public on the discrimination he has faced; both from others and from himself. As a result, he has become a voice for his community – the youth and the stigmatized.
